Come respond to the universal call to holiness and join us in apostolic works of the New Evangelization!

The Legion of Mary is the largest lay Catholic evangelistic organization in the world! Legion of Mary active members go out two by two each week of the year and tackle specific apostolic works to advance the kingdom of God in an organized and systematic manner. Mary is our patroness.

The founder of the Legion of Mary, the servant of God Frank Duff (1889-1980), was one of the few official lay observers at the Second Vatican Council in 1965. In many ways the Legion of Mary, which he founded on September7, 1921, anticipated by over four decades many of the most important aspects of that Council’s major documents. Our first goal, which is our own sanctification as laypersons, was an emphasis of the universal call to holiness taught in chapter V of Lumen Gentium (the council’s dogmatic Constitution on the Church). Our second goal as laypersons, which is the evangelization of others, is a mission envisioned and called for in the chapter on the laity in that same document. The Council’s teachings in chapter VIII of Lumen Gentium that Mary is our Mediatrix of all Grace, who’s salvific influence upon men flows from, depends upon, and draws all its power from Christ’s superabundant merits, is at the heart of Legion spirituality.

We meet every Thursday at 8:00 am in the Sacred Heart Building Room 3

Women’s Fellowship

Director: Debbie Mullen and Jessica Toth
Contact Phone: (909) 628-3462

St. Margaret Mary Women’s Fellowship began in 1991 to help women develop a deeper and more personal relationship with Christ and bring scripture into our daily lives with prayerful and practical application.

Our ministry is comprised of 15 groups, each having a facilitator and co-facilitator. We also have leaders in charge of hospitality and music. Leadership is voluntary but may sometimes be appointed when leadership skills are recognized and needed.

We meet for 6 to 8 weeks in the fall and 12 weeks in the winter-spring. Currently there are 200 women registered for this winter’s session, coming from 16 different parishes in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Orange County. They range in age from 19 to 85. We encourage women to invite mothers, daughters and friends to participate and we welcome women of all faiths to join us.

We meet in the parish hall on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. This winter we are doing a bible study called Becoming a Woman of Faith. During the time we meet women are encouraged to voluntarily participate in an outreach to Mary’s Table in San Bernardino that feeds and clothes the needy in our community by contributing clothing, rice, beans and tomato sauce that is taken to Mary’s Table weekly. Women from our ministry yearly participate in the Pro-Life walk during the spring and the Pro-Life fashion show in the fall. We also have a yearly retreat in October held at Mission San Luis Rey and make shoe boxes for the homeless at Mary’s Table/San Bernardino for Christmas.

Women from our ministry are actively involved in many parish ministries in churches they belong to: Eucharist Ministers; lectors; decorating the church for the holidays; participate in the choir; on the parish and financial council; in rosary prayer groups; Pro-Life ministry; religious education – all enhancing the spiritual and community life of their parishes.

Jesus is more known and loved by every woman who participates and they are greatly blessed by the prayers, support and friendships made.

Eucharistic Adoration

The Ministry of 24hr Eucharistic Adoration is open to all parish members and offers an opportunity to spend devotional time in quiet prayer and meditation in the presence of our Lord in the Consecrated Holy Eucharist.  A time to be close to Christ, to feel His presence in devotional serenity. A time to build upon your faith and devotion to our Lord.

Jesus Christ asked his Disciples to stay awake with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane, won’t you spend some time with Christ thru Adoration of this Blessed Sacrament?

The Holy Eucharist is displayed within the Golden Monstrance in the Chapel of the Virgin Mary for 24 hours from 7am Friday to 7am Saturday.  You can chose an hour time slot and sign up as a weekly adorer and sign in at your arrival, or you can come to the chapel as a guest and sign our guest sheet. Our requirement is that we have, as a minimum two (2) adorers, more are certainly welcome, in Adoration at any time period. And of course, that your time there is spent in peaceful tranquility and reverence in the presence of our Lord.

During the 24 hours of Adoration you may enter the chapel thru the side door of the church or thru the rear door. During late night and early morning hours you will need to knock on the rear door to enter.  And please remember to sign the “sign-in book” located on the pedestal this will help the ministry determine where adorers may be needed and how the ministry is doing.

Any parishioner who is interested in, or is contemplating spending some time with our Lord in the Holy Eucharist can contact:
