Our parish mission will have two guest speakers to lead the community in a series of talks, reflections, and spiritual exercises. Come be inspired to deepen your relationship with Christ, rediscover the joy of the Gospel, and commit to active discipleship

Priest Celebrating Mass
Reflection for December 8, 2024:
Second Sunday of Advent (Mark 1:1-8)

Gospel Summary:
This Gospel introduces John the Baptist, who prepares the way for Jesus by preaching a baptism of repentance. John fulfills Isaiah's prophecy of a voice crying out in the wilderness, calling people to ready their hearts for the coming of the Lord. He emphasizes his role as a forerunner, pointing to one mightier than himself—Jesus—who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.

Reflection:
John the Baptist’s message challenges us to prepare our hearts for Jesus during this Advent season. His call to repentance invites us to reflect on what might be hindering our relationship with God and to make changes that bring us closer to Him. This Gospel encourages us to live with humility, like John, always pointing to Christ in our words and actions. As we light the second Advent candle, the Candle of Peace, let us seek inner peace through reconciliation with God and others, preparing the way for the Lord in our lives.
